Hong Kong, May 22, 2000 — chinadotcom corporation (Nasdaq: CHINA) today announces the appointment of Rex Mai as Managing Director, China of its wholly-owned subsidiary 24/7 Media Asia.

Rex joined chinadotcom corporation in 1996 as the Marketing Manager of China. In early 1997, Rex initiated the launch of the portal and was subsequently promoted to National Sales Manager that year. As one of the pioneers and early players in the China Internet business, Rex was instrumental in building chinadotcom corporation's business and presence in Mainland China. He helped to establish chinadotcom's offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou. chinadotcom now operates in 12 major cities in Mainland China.

In 1998 Rex introduced 24/7 Media Asia to Mainland China, giving China its first online advertising network. Rex was appointed as General Manager of 24/7 Media Asia in China in 1999 and established the 24/7 Media Asia's Beijing and Shanghai offices. In his dual role as General Sales Manager in 1999, Rex also led the team responsible for the official website for the Heineken Open Shanghai ATP Tournament. The website provided seamless media operations for the Heineken Open, and eventually led to an accreditation of the event with an Award of Excellence for Best Media of ATP Tournaments 1999 at the ATP Annual Conference in Hanover, Germany that year.

In his new position as Managing Director, China, Rex will oversee the day-to-day operations of 24/7 Media Asia's Mainland China business. He will be responsible for the implementation and execution of chinadotcom's integrated online advertising business strategies in Mainland China.
