Web Connection, Asia's leading e-business integrator, has picked up four more industry honours to add to its trail of successes in creating award-winning e-business sites for clients. The latest accolades include the Web Marketing Excellence Awards organised by IDG World Expo and the International Web Page Awards.
At the IDG World Expo 2000 Web Marketing Excellence Awards last month (http://webaward.hongkong.com), the Web Connection was recognized for its efforts for the IBM China/Hong Kong web site which won a Web Marketing Merit Award (Corporate Group), the Hong Kong Tourist Association which won the Web Marketing Excellence Award (Non-Commercial Group) and the Hong Kong Arts Festival site which won the Web Marketing Merit Award (Non-Commercial Group).
More recently at the International Web Page Awards (www.webpageawards.com), a prestigious event rated by Wired Magazine as one of the Top 5 Internet awards in the world, Web Connection kept up the momentum by winning the "Best of Category" site for Literature. The Web Connection's winning entry was for a Japanese web site for client, Shikosha, called Ehon Artbook. Based on the concept of an art gallery displaying the artwork in a children's book, the web site creates an aesthetic environment of tranquility and inspiration for both children and adults alike. It is the first online endeavor for this 50-year old Japanese institution.
With these new additions, the Web Connection has won a total of 25 awards within the last five months - a record for the company.

Also, the Hong Kong Tourist Association has won multiple awards around the world, including "Best Public Sector Site" at the UUNET/South China Morning Post Business Web Sites of the Year Awards in Hong Kong announced last December, as well as Macromedia's "Site of the Day" (USA), Enlaweb's "Site of Month" (Spain) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association's "Best Tourism Site" in 1999.
