Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA) Resource Center
Welcome to the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA) Resource Center
This portal is provided by Ross Enterprise to help food processors gain a clear understanding of the current requirements of the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA) and learn about practical solutions to address these requirements. The Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (FALCPA) (Public Law 108-282) was enacted in August 2004, and addresses, among other issues, the labeling of foods that contain certain food allergens. FALCPA will require, beginning 1/1/06, that food manufacturers identify, in plain, common language, the presence of any of the 8 major food allergens (Milk, Egg, Peanut, Tree Nut, Fish, Shellfish, Wheat, Soy). The legislation will also require food labels to indicate the presence of major food allergens used in flavorings, spices, additives, and colorings.
Employed as the operational system of record by Food Processors, Ross' Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution provides the ability to track and trace product lots, comply with product-ingredient specifications and employ robust process control for the manufacture of products containing food allergens, helping Food Processors meet allergen disclosure requirements.
Software solutions from Ross are used today by thousands of companies worldwide. Food processors, large and small, rely on these systems to ensure the safety and quality of their products, provide excellent customer service and optimize their forecasting, production scheduling and inventory management. Read how some of these companies are addressing their food safety requirements and improving their overall profitability.
