It also uses visual tools to design and reuse UI components and is based on a powerful and flexible Model View Controller architecture that ensures a clear separation between UIs and backend services.

SAP recognizes that there is a large number of character-based scanning devices being sold and used for industrial purposes, such as warehouse management, manufacturing, and supply chain execution. With long life expectancies, these devices should remain in use in industrial environments for the next 10-15 years. To support these devices moving forward, SAP will migrate SAP console to Mobile Web Dynpro, enabling native character-based mobile data entry. SAP has incorporated the browser-based scanning functionality into SAP Web AS, with Mobile Web Dynpro providing online mobile data entry connectivity through browser-based scanning functions.
