SAP Internet Transaction Server (ITS)

SAP is replacing SAP WebConsole with SAP Internet Transaction Server (ITS). ITS delivers an HTML (Hypertext Mark-up Language) based user interface to SAP applications by acting as a gateway between the HTTP (Hypertext Transport Protocol) and SAP application server.

Web Dynpro includes sophisticated runtime services and minimizes manual coding because of its model-driven approach. It also uses visual tools to design and reuse UI components and is based on a powerful and flexible Model View Controller architecture that ensures a clear separation between UIs and backend services.

SAP recognizes that there is a large number of character-based scanning devices being sold and used for industrial purposes, such as warehouse management, manufacturing, and supply chain execution. With long life expectancies, these devices should remain in use in industrial environments for the next 10-15 years. To support these devices moving forward, SAP will migrate SAP console to Web Dynpro, enabling native character-based mobile data entry.
