CDC Software signs three new customers in December
ATLANTA,
December 31, 2006—CDC Software today announced the signing of three new customers for its groundbreaking CDC Factory (CDC Software) software suite during December.
In a good month for the provider of Real-Time Performance Management (RPM) software, CDC Software has signed deals with three leading manufacturers from the food and beverage sector, Litehouse Foods, Nellson Nutraceutical and Masters Gallery.
Litehouse Foods manufactures a range of high quality dips, sauces and salad dressings from its facilities in Sandpoint (ID) and Lowell (MI) and selected CDC Factory to underpin its Lean Manufacturing strategy. With increased competition and facing increases in fuel and packaging costs, Litehouse wants to ensure sure it achieves optimum efficiency from its manufacturing plant and personnel. It is anticipated that the CDC Software parallel installation at both sites will deliver a very significant contribution to the company's three immediate objectives – increasing output per man-hour, reducing packaging and raw materials waste and a reduction in administration time.
Nellson Nutraceutical specializes in health products, particularly nutrition bars and functional powders for the diet/weight loss, sport nutrition and bodybuilding markets. The company's strategy to retain and grow market share - focusing efforts on the three principal areas of sales volume, profit margin and customer service - requires the foundation of a manufacturing operation that works to maximum levels of efficiency. Installed at Nellson's plant in Salt Lake City, CDC Factory will provide real-time performance visibility and all the information required for senior management to make decisions that will deliver the company's objectives.
Based in Plymouth (WI), Masters Gallery manufactures a comprehensive range of cheeses for the retail and foodservice sectors, including bar, chunk and shred formats. Identifying a requirement for the Production division to increase its overall contribution to the profitability of the business, the company has chosen CDC Factory to provide performance data, as existing methods of collecting and analyzing production information could not provide the required level of detail. The company had previously commissioned a bespoke software solution which failed them, and were particularly keen CDC Software's "out of the box" quick set-up and go. The initial project scope is expected to deliver a significant average increase in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across all production lines, translating into a substantial bottom-line benefit in additional product manufactured.
