— Pivotal Corporation (Nasdaq: PVTL; TSE: PVT), the leading provider of sensible customer relationship management (CRM) software, today announced the appointment of Jesper Andersen, former Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ:ORCL) vice president of online CRM services, to the position of executive vice president of products.
“First-rate executives are joining Pivotal because the company is perfectly poised to capitalize on a large, untapped market opportunity,” said Bo Manning, president and CEO, Pivotal. “Our goal to lead the CRM market for mid-sized enterprises is bolstered by this powerful addition to our leadership team – Jesper brings extensive leadership skills, Web services knowledge, advanced product development experience, and an unparalleled vision for the future of CRM technology.”
Andersen successfully built, launched and led Oracle’s first venture into Web services. Now Andersen will lead Pivotal’s technology vision and product development as the company continues to accelerate the rate at which it introduces world-class, results-producing CRM products.
According to Andersen, “Pivotal has the people, technology, and corporate strategy to be the uncontested leader in the mid-sized enterprise CRM market. My objective is to ensure Pivotal is at the forefront of innovation by leading the development of CRM products that help our clients increase revenue, margins, and customer loyalty. I am honored to be joining the Pivotal team.”
Andersen’s appointment is part of Pivotal’s overall corporate strategy to create a world-class leadership team and become the market leader in CRM for mid-sized enterprises. Other key executives that have joined Pivotal to lead this transformation include: Bo Manning, president and CEO, formerly of Deloitte Consulting; Rob Douglas, executive vice president of North American sales and operations, and Melanie Bell, senior vice president of North America strategic accounts and central region, both formerly of Siebel Systems (NASDAQ: SEBL); Joe Dworak, senior vice president, professional services and support, formerly of Deloitte Consulting; Cathie Frazzini, senior vice president of alliances, formerly of JD Edwards (NASDAQ: JDEC); and John O’Hara, executive vice president of EMEA, formerly of Lotus, an IBM Company (NYSE: IBM).
Andersen has more than 13 years of experience in the technology industry and most recently spent four years at Oracle Corporation where he held the position of vice president of online CRM services. At Oracle, Andersen developed and launched Oracle’s first-to-market and award-winning, on-demand CRM application; successfully defined company-wide standards for Oracle’s next generation software as a service architecture; and was critical to the launch of Oracle’s 11i eBusiness Suite.
