chinadotcom Subsidiary Recognized for Outstanding Work

Web Connection Wins Six Awards at 2000 WebAwards and HKDA Design Show

Hong Kong, December 4, 2000 — chinadotcom corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA; Website: www.corp.china.com) once again wins recognition for creating winning e-business sites for clients through its e-solutions unit, Web Connection. The latest accolades include the WebAwards organized by the Web Marketing Association and the Design 2000 Show by the Hong Kong Designers Association.

At the international web site competition organized by the US-based Web Marketing Association (WMA), Web Connection accepted three prizes for its work with the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) and the Hong Kong Tourist Association (HKTA). Annually, the WMA independently evaluates and recognizes the achievements of web professionals who create outstanding corporate web sites. Web Connection was the only Asian-based Internet professional services firm to be granted an award.

"We are very pleased to receive international recognition for the quality of work we deliver to our clients, " commented Steve Mckay, Senior Vice President of chinadotcom e-solutions. "HSBC's Personal Banking site showcases the bank's overall commitment to extending the channels through which its customers can manage their finances and access the myriad services available to them, when and where they choose."

The Hong Kong Tourist Association received two awards, one for its main site called "City of Life" and the other for an interactive story where one of the judges commented, "Great graphics, storytelling and use of technology. An experience in taking the Internet to its fullest ability to date...in one word, WOW."

Web Connection picked up three more awards at the Design 2000 Show, a major Asian design industry competition organized by the Hong Kong Design Association. Work for two financial services clients, DBS Bank in Singapore and HSBC (Mandatory Provident Fund site), were recognized along with the luxury resort in Mauritius, Le Saint Geran.

Peter Yip, Chief Executive Officer, said, "This professional recognition further demonstrates the strength of our chinadotcom e-solutions unit, one of the components of our three-dimensional business model, and our commitment to providing premium services to our clients. We believe that the success and outstanding performance of Web Connection will become one of the key drivers of our revenue growth."
