chinadotcom corporation elevates operations with new President for the Americas and Senior Vice President of Finance

Andrew Miller to focus on US enterprises looking to Asia's Internet spaceKenneth Fowler to boost global financial management system

Hong Kong, May 17, 2000 — chinadotcom corporation [NASDAQ: CHINA; Website: www.corp.china.com], the leading pan-Asian integrated Internet company, has appointed Andrew Miller to the position of President, USA, chinadotcom corporation and Kenneth Fowler as Senior Vice President, Finance.

An American who previously lived and worked in Asia for twenty years, Miller takes the helm of the group's US operations to provide a direct interface for clients, and investment and media partners based in the US. Fowler, based in Hong Kong, heads up a growing strategic financial management, corporate treasury and accounting organization for chinadotcom, as the group rapidly expands its global network of offices and investments.

"We offer our warmest congratulations to both Andrew, as he takes up this exciting position as President of our US operations to drive its high-profile mission, and to Kenneth, who has been successfully ramping up our finance function as our operations grow significantly," said Peter Yip, Chief Executive Officer of chinadotcom corporation.

Miller, based in California, now heads an expanding management team including sales, marketing and business development executives with offices in both Silicon Valley and New York whose mission is to raise chinadotcom corporation's American profile as an Asian Internet pioneer and increase market awareness of its unique investment-driven "Build, Distribute, Sell" Internet business model. He also takes over responsibility for day-to-day management, forging new investments and partnerships, executing media and investor relations initiatives, and recruiting high-caliber staff from the US talent pool for careers with Asia's most prolific pure-Internet company.

On Miller's appointment, Yip commented, "Andrew's track-record in the Asian technology markets and his American-born background add up to the veteran we need who understands business on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. Our growing team under Andrew's leadership will play an important role in helping us to communicate these messages effectively with our US audience to support the group's growing international business interests."

Fowler leads chinadotcom's growing finance organization out of Hong Kong. His team is expected to grow from 40 accounting and finance professionals to over 70 during this year alone. Beyond setting the finance, accounting, management reporting, and acquisitions policies and procedures, he has the challenge of efficiently integrating the financial operations of the various companies being acquired by chinadotcom corporation as it continues to rapidly expand both organically and through acquisition.

"Kenneth is playing a vital role in integrating our string of acquisitions and investments into our various reporting systems. He and his team will ensure that we get maximum economies of scale through developing financial and administrative synergies throughout our different business units," said Yip.

First appointed by chinadotcom corporation in October 1999 as Vice President - Marketing and Sales, Miller has risen quickly to make a significant contribution to the group, having signed off on several major investment initiatives, including deltathree.com, a global IP service provider. This agreement allows chinadotcom to incorporate deltathree.com's Internet communications services on chinadotcom's portals. Before joining chinadotcom corporation, he was Vice President of worldwide sales operations for Sina.com, Managing Director of Asia-Pacific for First Call Corporation, as well as Director of Business Development for Greater China at Reuters Asia and Manager of Channel Sales at Dun & Bradstreet.

"Since coming on board last year, even though we have accomplished much and grown a lot, I am continually amazed at the opportunities that lie ahead for the Internet in Asia," said Miller. "With new responsibilities and a passionate, motivated team to work with, I am looking forward to working with US partners to help them expand their Web strategies and operations in Asia. We will help to further elevate the position of chinadotcom corporation as one of the most recognized and respected companies in the global Internet marketplace.

Fowler, prior to joining the group earlier this year, gained more than 18 years of experience in finance, rising to Director of Corporate Finance for SkyTel Latin America, and Director of Finance for SkyTel International, spearheading the development of key financial strategies for the firms' numerous international operations. His years served as a manager with both Price Waterhouse and Ernst & Young provide the accounting and operations consulting background necessary to challenge the corporation with new means of delivering value to its shareholders. As a CPA from the United States, he brings additional management strength to the accounting organization.

"Working at a dynamic company like chinadotcom has provided me with rich experiences and valuable opportunities to manage the rapidly changing financial needs of a fast growing company. I anticipate my job will be ever more challenging as the Company continues to expand and develop," said Fowler.
