chinadotcom corporation Adds Value To Its Web Solution Offerings By Introducing Personalised Internet Service

chinadotcom corporation Enters Partnership with Net Perceptions

Hong Kong, February 2, 2000 — chinadotcom corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA; Website: www.corp.china.com) a pan-Asian, integrated Internet company, announced it has entered into an agreement with Net Perceptions (NASDAQ:NETP), the pioneer and leader in providing personalisation solutions which enable businesses to serve customers on a one-on-one basis across multiple touch points.

In this agreement, Web Connection, the Build portion of chinadotcom's business model of "Build, Distribute, Sell", will distribute and support Net Perceptions' Realtime Personalisation Technology (RPT). RPT is a revolutionary service which predicts an individual's preferences through observing realtime behaviour like click-throughs, and makes specific recommendations accordingly to ensure a one-on-one service. Net Perceptions has also signed two Korean companies, DACOM System Technologies and MPC Limited as partners.

RPT will benefit business-to-business customers by allowing them to monitor customer behaviour as they click through icons on the website. For instance, an online music provider can observe the categories of music that the user clicks on and then use that information to proactively send tailored retail information to the user.

Mr. Peter Hamilton, Chief Operating Officer of chinadotcom corporation, said, "We are very excited about our partnership with Net Perceptions. RPT will leverage our e-Commerce provision capabilities two-fold. First, RPT will encourage greater stickiness or loyalty from customers as they receive personalised product information directly from the source. Second, as

a result of greater customer loyalty, businesses will gain further understanding of customers' specific needs, and in turn will be able to continuously adapt products and services accordingly."

The announcement adds to the unique blend of core competencies that the Web Connection offers while positioning chinadotcom as an Asian market leader in online customer relationship management.

"The Asia-Pacific market offers explosive growth opportunities for our personalisation technology," said Steven Snyder, CEO and President of Net Perceptions. "E-commerce in Asia is expected to reach US$32 billion by 2003. Asia is clearly a huge untapped market for personalisation and by being here first with pan-Asia coverage gives us a tremendous advantage."

By partnering with a company that is clearly a leader in its field, chinadotcom will be able to deliver integrated Internet services to its clients and differentiate it from competitors in Asia.
