Non-Internet Users Gain Access to Locally Tailored Lifestyle Information

Hong Kong, January 10, 2000 — In a partnership announced today, chinadotcom corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA) and New World CyberBase Ltd. will deliver locally tailored lifestyle information from chinadotcom corporation's portal via New World Cyberbase's extensive PowerPhoneTM network in Hong Kong.

The content will be sourced from's CityGuide in the first phase of implementation. Information specifically tailored to PowerPhone users will be provided at a later stage and strong marketing support is planned to promote the awareness and usage of this unique content.

PowerPhones are infotainment kiosks, with web access capability and are the world's first touch-screen interactive and multimedia information kiosks. The expanding network of 700 PowerPhones are strategically positioned in high-traffic areas throughout Hong Kong, including KCRC and MTR stations, Chek Lap Kok airport, the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Center as well as major shopping arcades. Aside from providing telephony services, PowerPhones also offer fax, data communications, email, and e-Commerce services.
