Hong Kong, December 28, 1999 — chinadotcom corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA), a pan-Asian integrated Internet company providing a full range of solutions that "Build, Distribute, and Sell" Internet services, has capped off 1999 with a 450 percent staff increase and over 20 web design awards.

chinadotcom corporation began the year with 175 staff members in 10 offices across Asia. The number of employees has since multiplied to over 800, and the offices have expanded to cover 21 locations across 10 Asia-Pacific markets.

chinadotcom corporation's web solutions arm, the Web Connection, has won 18 web awards this year, more than the number won in 1998 and 1997 combined. Those awards, recognizing innovative content and creative strategies in developing client web sites, include the Gold Award for the Best Business Site of the Year at the first Annual Click! Awards in Taiwan, a competition that attracted more than 230 entries this year, and three Standard of Excellence prizes at the 1999 WebAwards. Sponsored by the US based Web Marketing Association Inc. (WMA), an independent organization in the Internet industry, the annual WebAwards evaluates and recognizes excellence in corporate web sites on the World Wide Web.

The web site provided seamless media operations for the Heineken Open, and the event's communications efforts have been acknowledged with the Award of Excellence for Best Media of ATP Tournaments 1999 at the ATP Annual Conference in Hanover, Germany.

The Hong Kong and Taiwan portals, hongkong.com and taiwan.com, both received the Standard of Excellence Award from the 1999 WebAwards. In addition, hongkong.com received another Standard of Excellence Award for its Haunted School 4 entertainment feature, a suspense-filled interactive game set on an Internet

campus, as well as a "Shock Site of the Week" award from Macromedia for interactive games featured during Halloween.
