Hong Kong, November 4, 1999
— 24/7 Media Asia Limited, a China.com Corporation company [NASDAQ: CHINA], has promoted Mark Robertson to Associate Director - Regional Sales Development, and Wendy Foo to General Manager - Hong Kong. As the largest Internet advertising sales network in Asia, 24/7 Media Asia delivers Internet advertising and interactive marketing solutions and services to both advertisers and web publishers in the region. Mark and Wendy will help lead the company to be a major player within the Internet advertising industry in Hong Kong and across Asia.
A former General Manager and member of 24/7 Media Asia's founding management team, Mark was previously with the company's parent, China.com Corporation and its subsidiary, The Web Connection. He has played a key role in major projects such as the development of the Hong Kong World Cup Rugby Sevens web site and the management of the Hong Kong Handover web site in conjunction with Reuters. He was also instrumental in the launch of Reuters' successful online investor service product, as well as developing sales for the China Soccer World Cup web site for China Internet Corporation.
Mark was invited to join the company in 1998 to combine his interactive expertise with his previous experience in advertising, direct marketing and publishing. Commenting on his promotion, Mark says, "24/7 Media Asia is today well-positioned to provide a unique opportunity to break new grounds in on-line advertising."
At 24/7 Media Asia, Mark spearheaded the company's growth in the area of sales, marketing, logistics and planning development. "As 24/7 Media Asia continues to grow exponentially, my new role will be looking for new areas of business development and concentrating our individual sales strategies under an Asia-wide programme," he concludes.
Succeeding Mark as General Manager Hong Kong is Wendy Foo. Formerly with Star TV, Wendy brings with her broadcasting and publishing sales experience. In her new role, Wendy will continue to aggressively develop the company's business in Hong Kong.
"We are delighted to be able to draw upon the strengths of two such highly qualified media sales executives," says Patrick Jonathan Wong, Managing Director of 24/7 Media Asia Limited. "Mark and Wendy's promotions reflect their success within our company and demonstrate our recognition for their valuable contributions to the success of our company as the leading internet advertising sales network in the Asia Pacific region."
Combining the operations in Asia, the United States and Europe, the 24/7 Media network extends to over 45 offices in 25 countries. Patrick observes, "I believe a major reason behind the success in our expansion has been the quality and calibre of our people."
