— Pivotal Corporation (Nasdaq: PVTL), a leading provider of eBusiness relationship management (eBRM) solutions, today announced that KPMG LLP has signed a 5000-user licensing contract for the worldwide deployment of the Pivotal eRelationship™ eBRM solution. KPMG's Consulting practice will deploy the Pivotal eRelationship solution to networked and mobile users in sales, marketing and client project management in North America, Latin America, South America, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. When deployed over the next several months, this global KPMG solution will be among the largest and most sophisticated eBusiness relationship management systems in the world.
"KPMG is at the cutting edge of Internet technology, both in our worldwide consulting business and in our own internal systems infrastructure," said Rod McGeary, vice chairman, of Consulting Services at KPMG. "We excel in projects that help businesses leverage the Internet and e-Engineer the way they do business. This global implementation of the Pivotal eRelationship solution is at the heart of our own e-Engineering strategy and will enable our employees around the world to more effectively manage our sales, marketing, and client relationship processes."
The Pivotal solution will enable more than 5,000 KPMG consultants around the world to collaborate over the Internet on international consulting projects, sales opportunities and marketing projects, allowing users to share ideas regardless of geographic locations. By consolidating all client information, interactions, and transactions into a single, unified system, KPMG will sharpen its focus on enhancing customer-facing processes, improving forecasting and increasing revenue and market share.
KPMG chose the Pivotal eRelationship solution because it met critical business requirements including:
The flexibility to adapt to KPMG's changing business needs
Ease of use for end users in sales, marketing, and project client management
An integrated solution that will enable KPMG to interface with various Microsoft- based back end systems
A distributed architecture to support the needs of a worldwide mobile user base and scalable to support KPMG's growth over the years.
In addition to licensing Pivotal products for internal deployment, KPMG is also a premiere member of Pivotal's Global Business Partner Alliance program and, along with Pivotal, Hewlett-Packard, and Microsoft, a founding member of the Enterprise 360 consortium for end-to-end customer relationship management and eBusiness solutions.
"As a global leader in eBusiness solutions, KPMG has deep experience in all aspects of Internet technology and has had the opportunity to field-test virtually every Internet product on the market," said Norm Francis, president and CEO, Pivotal Corporation. "KPMG's selection of Pivotal eRelationship for its own strategic, global eBusiness relationship management solution is a compelling endorsement of our scalable Internet technology and our innovative Internet business strategy. We're very excited to welcome KPMG to our global community of Pivotal customers, and look forward to KPMG's worldwide organization getting first-hand exposure to Pivotal technology by using our solutions in their day-to-day business operations."
"By consolidating customer service and project information centrally, on a global basis, we will be able to proactively manage our opportunities and effectively align our resources to better support our customers and meet market demand. The resulting focus on the right opportunities and increase in productivity will support our ambitious growth plans," said Ross Curtis, Managing Partner, Business Development, Consulting Services at KPMG.
The Pivotal solution will be deployed on Microsoft Windows-NT servers by a coordinated implementation team, broken down into the four main geographies of North America; Latin and South America; Asia Pacific; and Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
