Project Manager

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Position Summary:

Manage the implementation process of the Catalyst products in compliance with the contract, on time, within budget and meeting customer requirements.

Primary Functions (including essential functions):

Professionalism

  1. Assure adherence to quality and a commitment to excellence in work processes and procedures. 
  2. Create a team environment where employees work together within the department and outside of the department to achieve corporate goals. 
  3. Stay current on technology and managerial techniques to ensure continued effectiveness.

Product Knowledge

  1. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the current Catalyst products. 
  2. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Catalyst as configured and modified for each assigned customer.

Project Management

  1. Serve as primary contact for the customer for the life cycle of the project. 
  2. Develop a rapport with the customer’s management team. 
  3. Utilize the standard methodology to manage the project 
  4. Work with the customer to map business requirements and business scenarios. 
  5. Facilitate the identification of the client’s business requirements to ensure accurate product modifications. 
  6. Working with PS management to manage assigned project resources to effect a timely implementation, operational efficiency, and financial gain. 
  7. Write modification specifications for customer projects. 
  8. Maintain familiarity with the Feature Point estimating process. 
  9. Conduct and/or coordinate system testing of modifications. 
  10. Assist customer in developing acceptance test plans. 
  11. Coordinate and manage customer system acceptance testing. 
  12. Assist customer in developing end-user-training materials. 
  13. Participate in customer end-user training as necessary. 
  14. Control project costs to keep the project within budget. 
  15. Prepare presentations as needed for the customer. 
  16. Keep all project documentation current and filed in the appropriate online project folders. 
  17. Provide necessary support after go-live through transition to customer service

Contract Administration

  1. Become thoroughly familiar with contract terms for all assigned projects. 
  2. Ensure contractual obligations associated with the project are attained.

Customer Service

  1. Assist Customer Service in staying current in project status. 
  2. Follow all transition guidelines to ensure a thorough transition of the account to Customer Service

Administration

  1. Comply with all departmental reporting requirements. 
  2. On a timely basis, communicate to Professional Services Director work progress, variances and problems. 
  3. Prepare project update presentations as needed. 
  4. Respond to email and voicemail in a timely manner.

Internal Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the improvement of project and development process. 
  2. Assist in modifying standard templates for departmental documents. 
  3. Act as supportive team member. 
  4. Collaborate as required with other internal departments. 
  5. Prepare and conduct employee training in areas of expertise. 
  6. Manage departmental expenses to stay within the approved operating budget. 
  7. Communicate effectively to all departments. 
  8. Conduct objective performance reviews in a timely, professional manner. 
  9. Assist in the collection of delinquent accounts. 
  10. Contribute to the sales and development efforts by providing estimates and technical commentary. 
  11. Act as fill-in Director when requested.

Other Duties:

Perform miscellaneous duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years relevant Project Management experience leading enterprise wide software implementations - Required 
  • 2-3 years Software experience working with Warehouse Management Solutions as either an Architect, Developer or Business Analyst considered a plus 
  • Catalyst or equivalent WMS and/or supply chain execution experience considered a plus
  • Certifications: PMI-PMP or equivalent considered a plus
