General Manager - CDC eCommerce
Location: Toronto Preferred
Mandate/Role:
CDC Software is actively seeking a General Manager to lead our eCommerce division. As General Manager, you will be responsible for helping oversee all aspects of CDC Software’s eCommerce practice which includes Sales & Marketing, Professional Services, Support, Engineering, IT Operations and Finance. You will help build direct relationships with prospects in the points & loyalty, consumer electronics and retail industries with a heavy emphasis on growth. You will be required to be a focused, proactive self-starter with a proven ability to lead complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Above all, you are responsible for ensuring that CDC eCommerce exceeds client expectations for quality service while achieving annual P&L targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Marketing:
- Promote CDC eCommerce internally and externally
- Represent the company at industry events, webinars, speaking engagements
- Develop thought leadership for CDC eCommerce
- Maintain and promote analyst relations
- Support the sales organization in opportunity execution
- Develop and maintain target market, pricing, offering, etc
- Identify and react to changes in market: e.g. new competitors, new markets
- Direct Marketing to prioritize programs based on eCommerce marketplace and target verticals
Daily Operations:
- Manage professional services, support, account management and other front-line customer service teams to ensure high customer satisfaction
- Establish and maintain client relationships
- Establish and maintain Business Partner relationships
- Meet and exceed customer renewal/retention targets
- Supervise and mentor Professional Services, Support and Account Management team and staff
- Work with operations teams to ensure contract SLA targets are met and exceeded
Product Management/Development:
- Establish strategic product direction
- Assist Product Management to prioritize and define product roadmap
- Identify new product opportunities
Financial:
- Provide recommendations regarding long-term investments and growth strategies
- Oversee preparation of annual budget and monthly monitoring of Profit and Loss statements
- Provide quarterly updates to CDC Executive team regarding overall BU performance
- Provide recommendations regarding effective utilization of long and short term resources
- Participate in capital fundraising initiatives when required
Human Resources:
- Provide guidance to senior leadership team
- Performance management and improvement initiatives
- Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting
Education / Qualifications Expected:
Experience:
- 10-15 years experience with 3-5 years senior management experience (VP, GM, MD etc capacity)
- 10-12 years online marketing, ecommerce experience required
- 3-5 years experience managing SaaS product offerings
- International experience (EMEA/APAC) an asset
- Hands on experience managing Consulting and / or Professional Services teams
Education:
- Undergraduate degree required
- MBA an asset
Compensation:
- Base salary commensurate with experience
- Variable compensation commission based on sales and profitability achievement
